Remembering Mohammad Hossein and Zeynab Asadi Lari
Today, the National Student Network (NSN) lost two remarkable members of the NSN National Young Leaders (NYL) Mentorship team, Mohammad Hossein Asadi Lari and Zeynab Asadi Lari, in the crash of the Ukraine International Airlines flight near Tehran, Iran.
Mohammad joined the NSN in 2015. He was instrumental in developing the NSN’s regional presence in British Columbia (2015-2016) and also served as a mentor to NSN members and youths across Canada (2016-2020). Zeynab joined the NSN NYL Mentorship team in 2018 and immediately, she was an engaging individual who truly cared for her peers and her greater community. Not only were Mohammad and Zeynab bright scholars; they were also role models, mentors, and friends to the NSN family. Both were always happy to share their insights and advice with their younger peers; their enthusiasm in supporting the NSN’s work and their zeal for developing new initiatives to further education will be missed. Their accomplishments and genuine desire to make a difference within their community were an inspiration to us all.
There are no words to express the heaviness of our hearts by the sudden loss of Mohammad and Zeynab. Our condolences go to the Asadi Lari family and friends. Mohammad and Zeynab will truly be missed. May they rest in peace and their legacies live on.
