How to Ace Studies on Global Health & International Relations
Having multiple perspectives is beneficial for studies and a subsequent career with a focus on global health and international relations. To expand your perspectives, there are several things you can do.
Firstly, check out small seminar based classes. Since discussion is encouraged, you can broaden your perspective by speaking and arguing, a form of learning that is rare in the university environment. However, you need to do more than selectively choose your classes.
Try to get as involved as possible for a cause you are passionate about. If the activity encourages you to think outside the box and become aware of different aspects of international issues, even better! Join a Model UN team, volunteer for a non-profit or even a social justice club. These things will not only help you gain perspective, but they will make you a global citizen, which is an attractive trait for future employers.
Students are often fixated on grades. However, the university experience is meant to teach you to be so much more than a number. You need experiences that will make you stand out amongst the crowd. To pursue a career that focuses on Global Health and International Relations, students need to strike a healthy balance between academics and extracurricular pursuits.
